Appointment at the SAIB stand to explore live the interior design projects for the residential and contract sectors realised with the latest generation Mathera surfaces designed by Diego Grandi. We are happy to announce that SAIB will present at the Salone del Mobile.Milano, inside S.Project (Hall 6 Stand E33), an interior design exhibition project illustrating all the possible applications of Mathera. Born from the collaboration between the company and Diego Grandi and inspired by the world of stone, the surface expresses different material languages that allow an infinite range of furnishing solutionsto be proposed , such as worktops, kitchen and bathroom furniture, boiserie and doors, but also home office furniture, multi-purpose containers and tables for the residential, contract and hospitalitysectors.
At the stand, a selection of materials will be available for live viewing and touching. Nature, the inspiring source of the collection, and the sustainable production process, as witnessed by director Cristiano Bendinelli’s strongly immersive short films projected on the walls, will help create a strong empathy between the surface and the visitor. Merit of the product created by combining a thin layer of wood, stone and quartz powders from processing waste, amalgamated with resinous binders, with a SAIB chipboard produced exclusively through the recovery and regeneration of end-of-life wood. Three textures are proposed – Selce, Areia and Gipso. Selce explores the world of cleft stone by evoking the slight ripples of slate due to quarrying. Areia is a uniform, compact texture scattered with contrasting mineral grains and light three-dimensional reliefs evoking the bush-hammering of sandstone. Gipso is a surface soft and silky to the touch that reinterprets the malleable texture of chalk, animated by light movement and monochrome accents. Solid, compact and technologically advanced, Mathera guarantees high resistance to impact, scratching and rubbing and is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Wood, stone and quartz are in fact brought back to life through a process of recovery and regeneration on which the entire production of the SAIB EGGER Group is based, in line with the values of the circular economy. Mathera, in turn, can be 100% recycled and returned to the production chain.
Mathera.Changing Matters
Directed by Cristiano Bendinelli
The authenticity of Mathera will be communicated in an engaging way by the two chapters of the short film Mathera.Changing Matters, shot live by director Cristiano Bendinelli, and shown on a “loop” inside the stand for the duration of the Show. The intense images, accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack, will transport the visitor to the heart of the philosophy behind Mathera’s genesis and production process. The first chapter offers a series of shots of the surface set in hypnotic, absolute landscapes, emphasised by an original and emotional soundtrack. Mountains, beaches, cliffs and even the Himalayas, to which one of the film’s pivotal scenes is reserved, stages of an ideal journey into the primordial force of Nature. The second chapter, on the other hand, presents a sequence of images in which Mathera – a new, living, mutable material, a synthesis of Nature and Technique aimed at the future – embodies new production, product and project scenarios. Rhythmised by a soundtrack set to samplings of noise and machinery sounds, the film follows and deconstructs the process of industrial production, emphasising the relationship between natural and artificial, the expression of a virtuous vision attentive to a path that returns to the centrality of man and nature. egger.com
